Event Details & Take Aways
Purpose of Event:

Raise funds for JCMG to aid with education, community garden, and scholarship programs.

Bring community awareness to JCMG and services offered.

Provide community members with plants that should thrive in our area.
Personal Contributions to Event:

Assist quests with questions on available plants and write out purchase tickets for same day purchases.

Assist with delivery of advanced orders to cars in pick-up line.
-
Organize available plants for ease of attendee browsing and access to cashier area.
-
Set up and tear down of fundraising event.
Lessons Learned from the Experience:

Compile order list at time of online order closing instead of waiting until morning of event.

Community enjoys purchasing plants from annual sale better when able to discuss options with a master gardener.

Having orders gathered ahead of time with check -in out front and delivery out back increased the ease of delivery.

Need to work to enlist area youth in county 4-H and FFA programs to volunteer for the entire event as the majority of the JCMG member volunteers are not physically capable of working 8+ hour shifts after plant delivery through the entire sale event.
